POWER FACTOR

 Power factor is the percentage of electricity that is delivered to your house and used effectively, compared to what is wasted.  For example, a 1.00 power factor means that all of the electricity being delivered to your home is being efficiently used.

However most homes in America today have a .78 power factor and in some cases even lower.  That means in most homes that 78 percent of the electricity that is passing through your meter at your home or business is being used efficiently and 22 percent is being wasted by your inductive loads, meaning all of the electric motors in your home.  With a low Power Factor, the utility has to deliver more electricity to do the work that is needed.  By using a POWER FACTOR OPTIMIZER the power can be optimized to .95 to 1.00.This will increase the effective use of your electricity and lower your consumption which will in turn lower your power bills.

HOW DOES A POWER FACTOR CORRECTION DEVICE WORK?

 The PF 1200 reduces the amount of power drawn from the utility by capturing the otherwise lost electricity and sending that electricity back into the circuit.  The lost energy is caused by inductive motors.  These motors, to name a few, are air conditioning units, refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, pool pumps, pool heaters, vacuum cleaners, furnaces blower motors, fans, fountain motors, well motors and sprinkler system motors.

The technology used in the PF 1200 captures wasted energy and sends it back into your inductive motors, reducing the demand from the utility.  When you decrease your demand, you have reduced usage and therefore reduced your energy bill.  This complete process is called Power Factor Optimization.
